Italian Ice on 14th Street

Posted in District of Columbia by melissamccart on May 28, 2007

ritas.jpgWhether you call it Italian ice or water ice, it has arrived at Rita’s in northwest.  The new location which opened Saturday in the same building as Sticky Fingers Bakery  is open daily from 11-10.  The flavors at five minutes to close were pink lemonade, blueberry, raspberry, root beer, and some sugar free flavors that I ignored.  The rotation of 12 will change daily, though the manager suggests you lobby for your favorites and they’ll make them for you.  And, yes. They’ll most certainly give you brainfreeze.

I have had waterice and I have had sorbet but Micha’s Sorbets on the hill will always have a place in my palate, the way these people greet you with a smile and the great vibes you feel when you go to the booth and to be served the finest sorbet I have every tasted.

I have had a love affair with “Micha’s Sorbet’s since the first time, that man “Micha” put that spoon in my face and said don’t dine your self and that sorbet hit my palate they better come back although I wish I could get it all year round.

If anyone could contact him and let him known we would purchase his product year round!!!!!
